Art in the Community

James’ art can be found throughout Western NC from art markets to coffee shops to the Jackson County Public Library…

If the weather is nice, most every Saturday you can find James and his work at the Jackson Arts Market in Sylva, NC.

Up the hill from the Jackson Arts Market you’ll find City Light’s Cafe, offering a selection of his prints for sale. One of his best known pieces depicts the view of Sylva from near the cafe’s vantage.

Honey Bear’s Cupcakery in Bryson City stocks exclusive prints of James’ pastel of the store’s iconic facade. The framed original is also on display and available for purchase.

Last year he participated in the Hometown Heritage Festival in Downtown Franklin, NC and plans to continue doing so in years to come.

His piece “The Courthouse Sylva, NC” was featured in the latest issue of the multistate art magazine Carolina Muse.

Jackson County Arts Council recently selected James for a featured artist spotlight.

During the holidays James can be found at the Railroad Craft Market located on the patio of Dillsboro’s Innovation Station.

James began the professional side of his career selling prints of his work on the streets of downtown Asheville. From time to time he still runs pop-up stores out of Pack Square in the heart of downtown. Check his social media for the announcement of these.

The Jackson Arts Council hosted a group exhibition in which James participated. The Rotunda Exhibition was installed in the historic Jackson County Public Library from December 2023 to February 2024 and was viewed by hundreds of visitors throughout that time.

James will be displaying several new prints along with newly designed apparel at the nationally renowned Greening Up the Mountains festival on April 27th, 2024 in Historic Downtown Sylva.

He will also be the sole artist on display at Odds Cafe in Asheville, NC. The unveiling of the exhibition will be held on January 1st, 2025 and will run through the end of the month with both prints and originals for sale. Expect the simultaneous reveal of new pieces as his work will fill the entire storefront.
